*Secret* Document Surprises No One: Afghanistan Not Ready to Govern Self
When I read the headline over at the Washington Times regarding a super-secret State Department memo that claims that Afghanistan won't be ready to govern itself by the time US troops pull out I had to laugh out loud (LOLing, to you younger readers).
That is a .... secret?
Confidential U.S. assessments, which the State Department tried to hide from the public, show nearly all Afghan Cabinet ministries are woefully ill-prepared to govern after the U.S. withdraws its troops, often describing the gaps in knowledge, capability and safeguards as “critical” and describing an infrastructure in danger of collapsing if left to its own accord. How can something so obvious that every single person knows* be a "secret"?
*I use know here as an epistemological certainty
UN Human Rights Expert: UK Is Most Sexist Country On Earth
Some of you may immediately ask, "but what about Islamic countries that allow men to legally abuse women and prevent them from leaving the house? What about countries that demand women provide witnesses to rape or face execution? What about countries that don't allow women to drive, to vote, or even leave their own house without a man's permission? What about countries that ignore 'honor killings'? What about countries that still allow slavery? What about places that publicly beat women for not covering their bodies?"
You have to be kidding. Those things are nowhere as bad or as sexist as availability of porn or taking pictures on a subway.
Sexism in Britain is more widespread than in any other country due to a 'boys' club culture', a United Nations official has concluded.
Rashida Manjoo, a South African human rights expert, was charged by the UN Humans Rights Council to monitor violence against women in the UK and report back to them. [...]
In particular, she highlighted "the easy availability of porn, the use of social media including influencing young children around images" and "harassment on the [London] Tubes", referencing the current 'Women Who Eat On Tubes' trend of people taking pictures of women eating on the London Undergound, and posting them onto Facebook.
And, in case you are wondering, Manjoo is a Muslim. That may explain why she completely ignores the abuses of women in Islamic countries while condemning western countries.
FBI: Real Terrorist Threat Isn't From Middle Eastern Men But U.S. Citizens Talking About Big Government
An FBI agent walks into a gun store...
Sounds like the start of a bad joke. But, unfortunately, it isn't.
After showing proper identification, the agent told the shop owners that he was tasked with all the gun shops in the general area and that he was charged with investigating "suspicious purchases" in accordance with counterterrorism operations.
The suspicious purchases he mentioned, however, were completely normal transactions. This included, paying with cash, purchasing long guns, and other similarly innocuous behavior.
However, what surprised the owners the most was his statement regarding what he was most interested in tracking.
According to the witness, the agent stated, "If you see some Middle Eastern guy come in. You don't have to be so worried about that. What we're really looking for are people talking about being sovereign such as sovereign citizens or people talking about Big Government."

Hundreds Of Al Qaeda Members And Leaders Gather; Obama Administration Misses The Boat
A new video shows what looks like the largest and most dangerous gathering of al Qaeda in years. And the CIA and the Pentagon either didn't know about it or couldn't get a drone there in time to strike.
U.S. officials won't comment on that, but every frame of the video is now being analyzed by the United States.
In the middle of the clip, the man known as al Qaeda's crown prince, Nasir al-Wuhayshi, appears brazenly out in the open, greeting followers in Yemen. Al-Wuhayshi, the No. 2 leader of al Qaeda globally and the head of al Qaeda in the Arabian Peninsula, has said he wants to attack the United States. But in the video, he looks unconcerned that he could be hit by an American drone.
The video started appearing on jihadist websites recently, drawing the attention of U.S. officials and global terrorism experts. U.S. officials say they believe it's authentic.
Hit Them Wherever You Find Them And Call Them Poopy Heads
Islam classes in German schools are producing more hatred for non-Muslim. Yet one German dhimmi disagrees. Germany's Education Minister claims Islam spreads peace. No where in the curriculum, he says, does it command Muslim students to hit [non-Muslims] when you find them (@ 00:37).
Of course, the Quran doesn't say to hit non-Muslims so why should the curriculum say it? Either this Minister is completely clueless or he is hoping no one will find out, what the Quran actually says is "kill them wherever you find them." (v. 2:191)
Let's not let facts get in the way of a good, multicultural narrative...
Kansas City Shooting is Terrorism, Not 'Hate Crime'
What exactly is this mythical 'hate crime' that Frazier Glenn Cross, the man who opened fire at a Jewish center in Kansas, is going to be prosecuted for? The problem I have with 'hate crimes' is not that I don't think that what he did deserves a separate and distinct legal category from ordinary 1st degree murder, it's that we already have a legally distinct category. We call this category "terrorism".
Motive does actually matter in the committing of a crime. For instance, motive is what distinguishes murder from manslaughter. In the former you intended to kill the victim, in the latter you accidentally killed the victim through some act of negligence.
Mens rea is what lawyers call it -- the guilty mind.
The problem I and others have with "hate crimes" is that our betters in Washington have decided that hate as a motive for murder deserves more punishment than, say, greed as a motive for murder. I'll agree that if you accidentally kill someone I know I will be less angry than if you intentionally kill someone I know, but I can't see me being less angry or feeling less violated if you killed him because you wanted his money vs. killing him because he was Jewish.
If I may paraphrase my old skate-boarder buddies: hate is not a crime.
But terrorism is a crime treated differently than other crimes and much (but not all) of what passes for 'hate crimes' is actually just terrorism.
In this case for instance I have no problem calling this particular piece of excrement a terrorist. The fact that he actually killed no Jewish people in his murder spree only shows that he, like most terrorists, was an idiot. The point of his act of terrorism, like all acts of terrorism, was to kill people belonging to a particular class of people (in this case, Jews) in order to send a message to all people in that class: be afraid, be terrorized.
Hence, the oldest terrorist group in the US remains the Ku Klux Klan and those groups related to it. When the Klan would burn a cross on a black family's lawn, they did so not just to intimidate that particular family. No, they did it to intimidate (terrorize) all black families who might challenge the status quo.
Killing random Jews (or trying to kill Jews) is an act of terrorism in the same way that blowing up a pizza shop in Israel is. The perpetrators in both cases aren't targeting an individual out of jealously, greed, or avarice like the more common murderers. The perpetrators are instead randomly killing Jews (or in the Kansas case trying to kill Jews) in order to intimidate all Jews.
The best definition of terrorism is something like this: the intentional targeting of civilians by non-state actors in order to cause fear or intimidation in the furthering of political goals.
This is exactly what our suspect in Kansas City was doing. The fact that his larger political goal -- some sort of white supremacy -- is not feasible and based on delusional conspiracy theories of the ZOG (Zionist Occupied Government) really doesn't matter. In fact, many al Qaeda types would agree with the paranoid ZOG theories and would only replace white control with Islamic control.
Now you might argue that my objection to hate crimes is simply semantic, that in the end what matters is that we recognize that pieces of crap who commit crimes aimed at a race or class deserve prison sentences longer than ordinary criminals and so whether we call them 'hate criminals' or 'terrorists' the outcome is the same.
Maybe. But it seems to me that semantics actually matter a whole lot more than such dismissiveness.
By acquiescing to that am I not acquiescing to the very notion that hate is a bad thing? It seems to me that much of squishy modern thinking starts with that premise, but it is a premise that I cannot agree with. Hate, in my mind, can be a valuable emotion under certain conditions and in certain contexts.
I, personally, hate terrorists. I kind of count that as a good thing.
The suspect, Frazier Glenn Cross, who also used the name Frazier Glenn Miller, is believed to have links to various hate groups. He was a former “grand dragon” of the Carolina Knights of the Ku Klux Klan. Also, I hate this guy.
The hate crime designation means that Cross could face both federal and state charges in connection to the killings at the Jewish Community Center of Greater Kansas City and at the Village Shalom Retirement Center, both in Overland Park, Kan., a Kansas City suburb.
“The U.S. attorney’s office will file hate crime charges against the defendant,” said Barry Grissom, U.S. attorney for the District of Kansas. “We will be presenting it to the grand jury in the not too distant future.” ...
Rabbi Herbert Mandl, chaplain for the Overland Park Police Department, told CNN that the shooter was shouting neo-Nazi slogans as he was taken away. Mandl also said he was asking people whether they were Jewish before he fired. And KCTV reported he was yelling “Heil Hitler” during the arrest.
None of the victims of the shooting were identified as Jewish, authorities said.
Hypocrite Harry Reid: "It's Not Over."
Harry Reid responds to BLM backing down in seizing Clive Bundy's ranch:
"It's not over. We can't have an American people that violate the law and then just walk away from it."
Had the report who took that quote had any balls, he would have asked Reid about his missing campaign money. Or the millions of illegal immigrants pouring into our country. Or the continued persecution of George Zimmerman, despite a trial acquittal. Or ACORN voter fraud. Or the Del Webb land swap. Or fast & furious. Or the IRS targeting right-wing groups. Or Obamacare delays. Or countless other illegal activities by Reid and this administration.
Freedom Outpost writes:
No greater example of hypocrisy has ever been seen in history than the likes of Sen. Harry Reid (D-NV), Barack Hussein Obama, and Eric "You don't want to go there, Buddy" Holder. These individuals are the epitome of repeated lawbreakers who function with impunity. As the stand-off between the Bureau of Land Management and Cliven Bundy winds down, for the moment, in Nevada, Sen. Harry Reid, on Monday, told KRNV- TV, "Well, it's not over. We can't have an American people that violate the law and then just walk away from it. So, it's not over." [...]
If you have any doubt what a lawbreaker looks like, take a good look in the mirror then look at your "idol" Obama and his sidekick, Holder. When you are done with that, continue on to Nancy Pelosi, Dianne Feinstein and every Democrat in Congress. You can also include every Republican in Name Only under the lawbreaker status. Every alphabet agency in Wash**ton (yes, this is intentional), DC is also filled with lawbreakers: Lois Lerner, Jeh Johnson, Kathleen Sebelius, James Clapper, Keith Alexander - but, you get the picture.
The entire Wash**ton, DC area is littered with lawbreakers and traitors who walk around with impunity. You might take a look at history, Mr. Reid. You will learn that Julius and Ethel Rosenberg were put to death after being convicted of treason for less infractions than what has been committed by the likes of you and your ilk in the nation's capital.
Israeli Hackers Expose Anonymous Members
Israeli hackers hijacked the webcams of several Anonymous members and posted their images online:
Israeli hackers have gone on the offensive against their anti-Israel opponents in revenge for the #OpIsrael hacking attack against Israeli sites and servers.
After the failed "operation" by members of the "Anonymous" hacker network, Israeli hackers from Israel Elite Force took the fight to them - robbing them of their anonymity by posting details and even photos of some of the hackers on their website.
The hacker behind the counterattack, an Israeli known as "Buddhax", said that he did it to make anti-Israel hackers "think twice" before attacking Israeli sites, and to expose them as amateurs. [...]
After infiltrating the target computers via a Trojan horse, he managed to lure the hapless hackers to their computers and take pictures of them using their own webcams - which he promptly posted online together with a list of personal information and a direct message to his targets: "Next time don't take part in OpIsrael. Long live Israel."

Abu Hamza Trial Begins
Jury selection has started in the trial of the hooked handed Mustafa Kamel Musfa, the al Qaeda supporter better known as Abu Hamza. Let the fun begin:
Jury selection begins on Monday in the trial of a disabled Egyptian Islamic preacher who was extradited from Britain on charges he conspired to support al-Qaida, in part by trying to create a training camp in Oregon 15 years ago....Too bad we can't give this guy the death penalty.
Prosecutors say Mustafa conspired to support al-Qaida by trying in 1999 to set up a terrorist training camp in Bly, Oregon, by arranging for others to attend an al-Qaida training camp in Afghanistan, and by ensuring there was satellite phone service for hostage takers in Yemen in 1998 who abducted two American tourists and 14 others.
Twitter Joke Leads To Arrest Of 14 Year Old Dutch Girl
An update to this story.
Girl who tweeted terrorist threat arrested:
A Dutch teen at the centre of an airline bomb hoax scare has been arrested in Rotterdam.
Twitter user @QueenDemetriax, who calls herself Sarah on the website, sent an apparently threatening tweet to American Airlines on Sunday morning and within minutes received a reply from the airline saying her IP address had been forwarded to the FBI.
Dutch police have today confirmed they have arrested a 14-year-old over the incident, which saw the girl inundated with angry messages.
It's really too bad. She should have blocked the Dutch police too...
Happy Passover. That reminds me of an old joke.
What do Jewish women make for their husbands during Passover? Chag Pesach sameaches, of course.
Still here? That chag pesach sameach isn't going to make itself.
We at TJR haven't posted on the Bundy Ranch standoff, but we have been keeping a watch on the developments. As most of you already know, the government has backed down. Clive Bundy will keep his cattle. At least, those that survived.
But this dangerous situation wasn't about cattle or endangered desert tortoises. This was something much bigger. It was a shot across the bow in an ultimate confrontation between big government and free citizens. This meme illustrates the absurd claims by the government that the seizure of Bundy's herd was about endangered wildlife:
There is speculation, probably accurate, that Harry Reid is behind this standoff. Reid and his eldest son are in a deal with a Chinese contractor to build a giant solar plant. How will that affect the desert tortoise's habitat? Quite a bit, I would guess.
But it was never about the tortoise.
The tortoise was just an excuse to flex government muscle. What the government didn't expect was American citizens - the militias - to flex back. And that they did, beyond anything modern federal authorities have ever seen in this country.
Hopefully, this confrontation isn't a prelude to something much bigger. If it is, we will each have to decide whether we are willing to sacrifice to collectively defend our individual rights or are content to be mere observers. Either way, we will all be witness to this history in the making.
There's an old Chinese saying, "May you live in interesting times." Interesting is not synonymous with pleasant or safe. It can also have negative meaning. In fact, the Chinese expression quoted is often considered a curse.
We certainly do live in interesting times.

Islam To Replace Ethics In Norway School (And Other Islamophobe News)
A school in Norway will soon be Muslim only. The curriculum will essentially stay the same, according to officials, with the exception of ethics being replaced with Islam:
The opening of Norway's first Muslim-only school has caused controversy in the Scandinavian country's capital, with anti-immigration activists and politicians expressing their concerns over how the taxpayer-funded move might harm integration in the country. [...]
According to the Local.no, the school is set to "teach its pupils Arabic and Islamic values as well as the standard subjects on the curriculum, replacing the subject of Religion, Philosophy and Ethics with Islam, Religion and Philosophy."
Undercover video shows halal slaughter is cruel! Who would have thunk it?
A Canadian blogger dons a headscarf to expose racism and Islamophobia. The experiment doesn't go as planned. Here's a hint: It isn't the headscarf, it's the attitude.
In other news, Washington State University has published an online book for journalists clearing up many misconceptions about Islam. For example, did you know:
- "Allah" is just another word for "God." Christians in Islamic countries use the word "Allah." (Page 12)
- Muhammad was an honest, peaceful trader. (Page 18)
- Muhammad received his messages through Gabriel, an angel of Allah. (Page 19)
- Islam is about Cultural Unity and Diversity. (Page 33)
- Women are more respected in Islamic countries than in western countries! (Page 44)
- Dhimmis are protected, respected and loved by Muslims. (Page 55)
Most importantly, Islam really is just a religion of peace. Only racist Islamophobes believe otherwise.
These are just a few things journalists (and bloggers) should know about Islam before writing about it. And you can rest assured this guide is totally accurate and unbiased because its sources come from bastions of impartial thought such as The New York Times, the BBC, NPR, and CAIR.
BREAKING: George Bush Uses Common Images To Paint Portraits!
OMG! The humanity! If you didn't hate George Bush before this discovery, surely you will now!
George W. Bush's solo art show "The Art of Leadership: A President's Personal Diplomacy" has just opened at the George Bush Presidential Library and Museum in Dallas, Texas. Moving on from paintings of dogs and bath time, the exhibit features 30 oil-on-board paintings of world leaders. It appears as if they are all lazy reproductions of some of the first Google image search results.
Here's an example of the blatant, STOLEN artwork of which Bush is accused by this left-wing investigative journalist:
Oh, wait! That isn't it. Forget you saw that one. It is this one:
OH, THE HORROR! I can't believe Bush has a hobby painting portraits of world leaders and he has the audacity to use existing, popular pictures!
A real President would have loaded up a Presidential plane with a full security detail and flown - at taxpayer expense - to each country and had the leaders sit for their portraits. And then sent the wife and kids to another country for a vacation.
